摘要: BackgroundFormaldehyde (FA) is one of the most widely used materials in industries and sciences. Prolonged contact with FA might have harmful effects on fertility due to increase reactive oxygen species level. On other hand, date palm (Phoenix Dactilifera L.) fruit extract (DPFE) contains a high concentration natural antioxidants that could scavenge free radicals.ObjectiveThe aim was investigate prophylactic DPFE, strong antioxidant properties, FA-induced testicular toxicity male mice.Materials MethodsThirty-two adult NMRI mice weight range 25-35 gr (9-10 wk old) were randomly divided into four groups: control group (distilled water, orally for 35 days), (FA; 0.25 mg/kg intraperitoneally (i.p.) 20 treatment (Date (DT) + FA; 4 days followed by administration, mg/kg, i.p., (DT; days). After this, blood collected left epididymis testis tissues isolated evaluate sperm parameters histological examination, respectively.ResultsThe administration increased morphological anomalies reduced count, viability motility, also testosterone compared (p ≤ 0.001). In addition, studies testes showed causes changes seminiferous tubules such as destruction germinal epithelium vacuolization tubules. The DPFE consumption before partially ameliorate testosterone, sperm, FA.ConclusionThe use discount toxicity.
