摘要: Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is earning a role in the therapeutic arsenal of cocaine use disorder. A widespread and still growing number studies have reported beneficial repeated TMS (rTMS) reduction craving, intake cue-induced craving addicts. In spite these encouraging findings, many issues are unresolved such as brain area to be stimulated, laterality effects, coil geometry stimulation protocols/parameters. Intermittent theta burst (iTBS) more tolerable protocol administered at lower intensities shorter intervals than conventional protocols. Yet, its effects on length abstinence comparison with standard high frequency (10-15Hz) protocols never been evaluated so far. present paper we describe effect bilateral iTBS prefrontal cortex (PFC) population (n=25) treatment-seeking addicts, an outpatient setting, compare them 15 Hz same (n=22). The results indicate that produces consumption virtually superimposable rTMS group. Both treatments had low numbers dropouts similar side-effects, safety tolerability profiles. While larger warranted confirm observations, appears valid approach considered especially light brief duration (3 mins) vs (15 mins). would allow increasing patients treated per day current devices, thus reducing patient discomfort hopefully drop-out rates without compromising clinical effectiveness.
