摘要: CD8+ T cells contribute to central nervous system inflammation in human T-cell lymphotropic virus type I (HTLV-I)–associated myelopathy/tropical spastic paraparesis (HAM/TSP). We analyzed dysfunction (degranulation and IFN-γ production) have demonstrated that of patients with HAM/TSP (HAM/TSP patients) spontaneously degranulate express ex vivo unstimulated culture. HTLV-I asymptomatic carriers healthy donors did not. Spontaneous degranulation was detected Tax11-19/HLA-A*201 tetramer+ cells, but not CMV pp65 cells. Interestingly, production induced by coculture autologous CD14+ CD4+ patients, which correlated proviral DNA load infected patients. Moreover, the expression IL-15, enhanced on surface Blockade MHC class IL-15 confirmed these results. Thus, dysregulation mediated both infection Despite lower viral than HTLV-I–infected or –activated may be a heretofore important under recognized reservoir particularly
