摘要: Abstract Background Aim of this study is to report and analyze the incidence, clinical impact treatment options ectopic air localizations after transanal procedures. Methods A systematic literature review was performed using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. The research carried out PubMed database, identifying 40 articles with following keywords: “transanal” AND “emphysema”; “subcutaneous emphysema”; “pneumomediastinum”; “pneumothoraces”; “pneumopericardium”; “retropneumoperitoneum”. Results Nineteen articles, published between 1993 2017, were included in a total 29 patients. most frequent localization retroperitoneum, followed by subcutaneous tissues, mediastinum neck. This condition treated conservatively 20 patients, colostomy 4 bowel resection negative diagnostic laparoscopy one patient each. In three cases not specified. Ectopic location resolved all cases. Conclusions Pneumo-mediastinum pneumo-retroperitoneum procedures are unusual complications dramatic radiological appearance but can be managed successfully completely benign course Initially, conservative approach recommended.
