摘要: In Paramecium tetraurelia , mating type is determined during the differentiation of somatic macronucleus from a zygotic nucleus genetically competent for both types, O and E. Determination developing controlled by parental through an unknown mechanism resulting in maternal inheritance types. The pleiotropic mutation mtF E affects macronuclear differentiation. constitutive mutant homozygotes; number unrelated characters are also acquired development. We have examined possibility that causes defect developmental rearrangements germ-line genome. show excision IES (internal eliminated sequence) interrupting coding sequence surface antigen gene impaired mutant, alternative version gene. Once established, indefinitely transmitted across sexual generations cytoplasmic lineage, even wild-type genetic context. Thus, processes mating-type determination this IES, addition to their common sensitivity mutation, similar alternatives cells, suggesting molecular model determination.
