摘要: The characteristics of multiple-access protocols suitable for multimedia satellite environments are identified. four major classes in communications discussed. A short description a typical protocol each class is given. Major traffic listed, namely data, voice, and image. criteria used to evaluate performance, such as channel utilization, stability, complexity, fairness, overhead, No existing generally satisfies the delay performance all types environments, although adaptive seem show most promise. Adaptive can dynamically adjust according load fluctuation well different mixtures information. that transmissions combines some advantages suggested. >
