摘要: Freshwater unionid clams in North America have been virtually eliminated from waters that are colonized by zebra mussels. Near total mortality has reported western Lake Erie1,2,3,4, but we now discovered a large population of native Erie wetland shows little sign infestation. Field observations and laboratory experiments show warm summer water temperatures soft, silt-clay sediments trigger burrowing clams. This discourages infestation physically removes any attached
