摘要: Introduction Congenital dermal sinuses (CDS) are uncommon lesions. They most often noted in lumbosacral region and may lead to meningitis or spinal abscess. Intramedullary cord abscess (IMSCA) due CDS is rare co-exists with an inclusion tumor such as dermoid/epidermoid cyst. Materials Methods Literature review was done analyze all cases of pediatric IMSCA secondary by searching online databases starting from the oldest case reported. Results Only 50 have been reported were analyzed. Mean age 22.6 months (range 1 month–15 years). Fever, acute flaccid lower limb weakness, urinary disturbances common presenting features. Dermal sinus commonest region. Inclusion cysts observed 50% cases. Staphylococcus aureus organism. follow-up duration 18.2 week–156 months). Majority underwent multilevel laminectomy myelotomy drainage Outcome good-to-excellent around 60% four deaths. Presence fever weakness significantly associated poor outcomes. Conclusion Intramedullary very rare. Complete tract excision, abscess, decompression co-existent prolonged antibiotic therapy remain standard treatment. Approximately achieve good Fever portend poorer outcomes than those without.
