摘要: This article aims to understand the possible preconditions for transformation of a regional innovation system (RIS) into quadruple and quintuple helix applied development sustainable forestry-based bioeconomy in Varmland, Sweden. Research points necessity not only further developing current systems include more actors than earlier but also taking concern environment as way towards attaining sustainability. The research was carried out response need fourth its role RIS transform bioeconomy, identified by researchers, policymakers industry representatives. study inspired participatory transdisciplinarity transdisciplinary design, acknowledging importance variety knowledge production from different spheres society. Much empirical material gathered this based on interviews workshop with stakeholders. results show that use Varmland could be forward model proposes involvement civil society contribute larger societal change consumer behaviour, patterns, technological developments, infrastructure, norms values. However, must still regarded part vision statement policy documents.
