摘要: This paper examines the dynamics of ongoing conflict in Prestea, Ghana, where indigenous galamsey mining groups are operating illegally on a concession awarded to Bogoso Gold Limited (BGL), property Canadian-listed multinational Star Resources. Despite being issued firm orders by authorities abandon their activities, leaders maintain that they working areas little interest company; further counter there few alternative sources local employment, which is why first place.
