摘要: Two studies at the Defense Language Institute (California) investigated contribution of several variables to prediction post-language-training proficiency: (1) scores on a general vocational aptitude battery and language battery, both used screen potential students; (2) other cognitive measures not in screening process; (3) ratings student motivation, anxiety, use learning strategies. additional continued effort add certain types native competency Aptitude Battery for selection. One measure considered was listening assessment, particularly as it accounted two factors affecting difficulty tasks: extent which examinee had opportunity rehearse initial stimulus or recode later use; pre-existing mental set enabling application an appropriate schema select organize input needed perform testing task.
