摘要: Abstract The hazel dormouse, Muscardinus avellanarius, distribution was investigated in a fragmented woodland of central Italy. In order to understand the effects habitat fragmentation and forest structure on this species its presence‐absence analysed 38 fragments, relation several parameters, i.e., wood‐lot area isolation, floristic diversity, tree diameter height, number vegetation strata, density. human activities practised various such as management grazing by domestic cattle, were also recorded. surveys conducted using two different methods, hair‐tubing technique, searching for dormouse nests. Hair‐tubing confirmed presence all woodlots positively checked nest searching, while technique failed detect nine surveyed hair‐tubes. Our results indicated that grazed M. avellanarius likely b...
