摘要: Heart rate asymmetry (HRA) is considered as a physiological phenomenon in healthy subjects. In this article, we propose novel HRA index, Slope Index (SI), to quantify phase of heart variability (HRV) system. We assessed the performance proposed index comparison with conventional (Guzik's (GI) and Porta's (PI)) indices. As illustrative examples, used two case studies: (i) differentiate physiologic RR series from synthetic series; (ii) discriminate arrhythmia subjects Healthy using beat-to-beat time series. The results showed that SI superior parameter than GI PI for both studies maximum ROC area 0.84 0.82 respectively. contrast, had areas {0.78, 0.61} {0.50, 0.56} also performed surrogate analysis show caused by phenomena rather random nature signal. conclusion, quantification HRV provides additional information on HRA, which might have potential clinical use pathological future.
