摘要: The purpose of this research was to develop reliable measures attitudes toward and beliefs about obese persons, examine their relationship. Attitudes Toward Obese Persons Scale (ATOP) consists 20 Likert-type items has an alpha reliability range .80 .84. Beliefs About (BAOP) eight .65 .82. Both scales a questionnaire were administered 514 members the National Association Advance Fat Acceptance (NAAFA), 52 graduate students, 72 undergraduate students. multiple correlations .41 for NAAFA sample, .53 all significant at .001 level. attitude score most consistently strongly correlated with belief (BAOP). Factor analysis yielded simple factor structure three highly interpretable factors: Different Personality, Social Difficulties, Self-Esteem, accounting 23%, 11%, 8% variance respectively.
