摘要: Abstract Rotavirus diarrhea in 453 pediatric patients (29.8% of 1,518) was studied greater Bangkok during 1985 to 1987. The disease persisted all year, increasing incidence from August January (30 50%). Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis rotavirus RNA these and an additional 46 a 1982 1983 epidemic revealed 26 electropherotypes, 4 with short (S) 22 long (L) profiles. Of the analyzed specimens, 85.5% were L forms. Only one or few electropherotypes predominated each epidemic, whereas others appeared sporadically at low frequencies. Shifts predominant observed every epidemic. these, 126 strains tested for subgroup serotype by monoclonal antibody enzyme immunoassay. Serotype prevailed 1983, while 1 encountered more frequently than serotypes 2 A complete correlation found between electrophoretic migration segments 10 11 serologically defined specificity. Distinct occurred within same serotype, identical electropherotype always showed No specific correlated patient age. In this study, atypical rotaviruses mixed infections different identified.
