摘要: Abstract This multi-proxy study of sediment cores from karstic Lake Estanya (Pre-Pyrenean Range, NE Spain) provides the first complete, continuous record hydrological evolution in northeastern Iberian Peninsula over last 9500 yr. Six sedimentary facies and four main units have been defined after integration sedimentological, mineralogical geochemical analyses. The use total sulphur content as paleohydrological proxies allows reconstruction relative changes lake level. shows a large increase water availability 9.2 ka, fluctuating levels salinity during period 9.2–4.2 ka; generally higher 1.7 ka. Periods increased run-off delivery less saline conditions occurred at 8.5–8.2, 6.7–5.9, 4.9–4.2 ka. Dominant lower concentrated waters 4.2–0.8 ka were punctuated by level, clastic input episode ca. 1.7–1 ka. Fluctuating, but 800 years. phases are coherent with Western Mediterranean North Atlantic Holocene reconstructions, they also show similarities northern African records.
