摘要: Additions of Sc and Zr were introduced into Al–15 vol.-%B4C composites, eight experimental composites with different levels prepared via a conventional cast process. Optical microscopy, SEM TEM applied for observing the as microstructures, including interfaces between Al matrix B4C well evolution precipitates. It was found that involved interfacial reactions partially consumed Sc. On other hand, no major reaction products in interfaces, part remained precipitation strengthening. The addition yielded considerable strengthening peak aged conditions. combination significantly enhanced Nanoscale precipitates Al3Sc Al3(Sc,Zr) microstructure contributed to significant increase hardness.
