摘要: The role of the perineal muscles in erection physiology is currently controversial. Specifically, confusion persists as to function, if any, ischiocavernosus (IC) and bulbospongiosus (BS) possess nonejaculatory erections. An extensive review evidence for against such an erectile across five orders mammalian species indicates that IC create rigidity by producing suprasystolic intracavernous pressures. BS muscles, on other hand, are primarily involved expelling semen during ejaculation. Beckett coworkers were first demonstrate a clear relationship between muscle contractions, pressures rigidity. This model used differentiate erect phase from rigid cycle. involvement these sleep-related also reviewed. Clinical implications directions future research discussed.
