摘要: Autophagy generally refers to cell catabolic and recycling process in which cytoplasmic components are delivered lysosomes for degradation. During the last two decades, autophagy research has experienced a recent boom because of newfound connection between this many human diseases. plays significant role maintaining cellular homeostasis protects cells from varying insults, including misfolded aggregated proteins damaged organelles, is particularly crucial neuronal survival. Mounting evidence implicated autophagic dysfunction pathogenesis several major neurodegenerative disorders, such as Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease Huntington's where deficient elimination abnormal toxic protein aggregates promotes stress, failure death. In addition, also been found affect neurotoxicity induced by exposure essential metals, manganese, copper, iron, other heavy cadmium, lead, methylmercury. This review examines current literature on mechanisms amongst common disorders metal-induced neurotoxicity.
