摘要: The trait approach has already indicated significant potential as a tool in understanding natural variation among species sensitivity to contaminants the process of ecological risk assessment. However, realize its full potential, defined nomenclature for traits is urgently required, and effort required populate databases species–trait relationships. Recently, there have been advances area information management discovery semantic web. Combined with continuing progress biological knowledge, these suggest that time right reevaluation how from divergent research traditions collated made available end users field environmental management. Although great deal work on traits, scattered throughout databases, literature, undiscovered sources. Further will require better leverage this existing data fill gaps. We review discuss number technical social challenges bringing together moving toward new, collaborative approach. Finally, we outline path enhanced knowledge within domain space, showing that, by linking infrastructure, metadata (trait ontologies), Web 2.0 3.0 technologies, can begin construct dedicated platform TERA science.
