摘要: This review examines some of the potential risks orthodontic therapy along with their evidence base. The treatment include periodontal damage, pain, root resorption, tooth devitalization, temporomandibular disorder, caries, speech problems and enamel damage. These can be understood to arise from a synergy between patient factors. In general terms, factors that influence risk appliance type, force vectors duration whilst relevant are both biological behavioural. Hence, natural variation plans patients gives rise variations in risk. A good understanding these is required for clinicians obtain informed consent before starting as well reduce harm during treatment. After considering each risks, conceptual framework presented help better understand how may therefore mitigated.
