摘要: The visual environment is perceived as an organized whole of objects and their surroundings. In many cortical areas, however, neurons are typically activated when a stimulus presented over very limited portion the field, receptive field that neuron1,2,3,4. To bridge gap between this piecewise neuronal analysis our global percepts, it has been postulated representing elements same object fire in synchrony to represent perceptual organization scene5,6,7,8,9,10. Experiments with stimuli such moving bars or gratings have provided evidence for hypothesis11,12,13,14,15,16. We further tested by presenting monkeys various textured scenes consisting figure on background, recorded activity primary cortex (area V1). Our results show no systematic relationship firing pairs scene. Instead, recording sites most commonly showed equal amounts them did which one site represented other background. conclude synchronin V1 does not reflect binding features leads texture segregation.
