摘要: Publisher Summary All sensory systems have a cortical projection area. The evidence for vestibular was mainly based on electrophysiological studies. With sensitive tracer techniques direct vestibulothalamic pathway can now be demonstrated anatomically. Neurophysiological studies in the alert monkey show that precise signal recorded thalamus as well cortex. In neurophysiological neuronal activity ventroposterior lateralis pars oralis and inferioris, area 2v, while exposed to natural optokinetic stimulation. these structures neurons were found, which responded clearly stimulation, with patterns similar those found nuclei. most cases, cortex could also activated by stimuli. It is suggested ascending vestibulocortical pathways contain information used motor control and/or motion sensation.
