摘要: Despite significant advances in the understanding of complex pathophysiology, only a limited number new treatments for acute lung injury (ALI) have emerged last 2 decades. This article discusses some challenges that remain conducting clinical research patients who ALI and respiratory distress syndrome. New definitions incorporate prognostic measures reduce patient heterogeneity will allow more efficient enrollment patients. Delineating outcomes attributable to improve power studies detect treatment effects. Future collaborative be needed investigate longer-term outcomes.
