摘要: A large number of several-month current time series is now available in the western Mediterranean Sea, and harmonic spectral analyses provide spatially coherent information about major tidal (M2, S2, N2 K1) currents region. When they are significant, these generally barotropic, mainly rotate clockwise their ellipses have orientations that strongly dependent on local bathymetry. From Alboran Sea to Algerian Basin, Ibiza Channel as far Sardinian Channel, velocities semidiurnal components continuously decrease from a few 10(-2) m/s west 10(-3) even less east. The phases increase eastward 3-4 degrees E can then be considered constant similar 9 Channel. Such phase variation consistent with numerical models results presence an amphidromic zone near 0-2 E. Eastward E, should again, under influence another located Sicily In both Gulf Lions Ligurian extremely low ellipse characteristics erratic, again agreement models. Corsican where relatively shallow depths induce barotropic currents, semi-diurnal roughly opposed southwestern part sea. Considering this out-of-phase relationship occurrence maximum elevation eastern Tyrrhenian Sea. K1 lower than M2 ones, but much larger any other current. They exactly whole All also prove discerned records made by simple instruments.
