Poor reproducibility in radiographic grading of femoral cementing technique in total hip arthroplasty

摘要: The first study of the reproducibility a widely accepted grading system for femoral cementation in total hip arthroplasty is reported. Sixty postoperative radiographs were graded on two occasions at least 2 weeks apart by experienced observers. test-retest rate was 60% observer 1 and 70% 2. interobserver varied between 60 63% different assessments. Between 5 6% cases differed more than one grade tests. Kappa statistical analysis confirmed that poor all cases. This cement system, even hands observers, has too high intraobserver error to recommend its use.
