A single ion (Ar q+ q=1,3 or C 60 3+ ) in a conic electrode electrostatic trap

摘要: Abstract We report here an experiment concerning the operation of a conic electrode trap to study decay single trapped ion (Arq+ with q=1, 3 and C603+) in time range up 50 ms. Ions be are produced by collisions slow highly charged ions (56 keV Ar8+) Ar gas or C60 effusive jet. The is triggered coincident detection charge selected scattered projectile ejected electron number order select different recoil charges. storage efficiency has been studied for one oscillation as function cone voltage. One final aims these experiments measure on which scale multiply clusters impact stable. Since stability lifetime known depend their internal energy, we plan vary this parameter changing initial or/and selecting collision processes.
