摘要: Total reliance on herbicides for weed control is unsustainable with the spread of herbicide resistance and environmental need to reduce pesticide use. Strongly competitive wheat crops that have high tolerance pressure therefore maintain yields in presence weeds are a low-cost option reducing dependence herbicides. We examined feasibility selecting by crossing varieties differing traits associated competitiveness. Competitive ability yield potential must be treated as separate selection. Current measures crop competition do not two so selection based these often synonymous rather than pure tolerance. propose new measure, termed Incremental Crop Tolerance (ICT) reflects incremental difference between genotypes tolerance, over above differences underlying potential.
