摘要: Curcumin is a major biological active compound from turmeric or Curcuma longa. This nontoxic natural has been reported to possess several activities that are therapeutically beneficial cancer treatment. It increase the efficacy of other chemotherapeutic agents and reduce their toxic side effects which drawback most agents. also well known for its antiinflammatory activity (Amanda Robert, 2008). Since often develops under chronic inflammatory conditions, curcumin potential be preventive treatment agent against cancer. Furthermore, unlike act on specific process development, i.e., cell growth apoptosis, exerts effect various stages oncogene activation (Singh Singh, 2009), proliferation (Simon et al., 1998), apoptosis evasion (Han 1999), anoikis resistance (Pongrakhananon 2010), metastasis (Chen 2008) (Figure 1). Therefore, overcome chemoresistance problem in chemotherapy. chapter will provide an overview anticancer present pre-clinical clinical evidence supporting use as agent. Cancer associated with genetic instability c-myc serves modifier many targeted genes (Mai Mushinski, 2003). Likewise, mutation proto-oncogene ras identified types tumor (Rajalingam 2007). The dysregulation these oncogenes recognized initial step development tumorigenesis. Interestingly, have suppressive inhibit downstream effectors such cycle promoting proapoptotic proteins 2009). exhibits properties through ability induce apoptosis. anti-proliferative dependent concentration, duration treatment, type. At low doses, causes arrest, while at higher doses it induces Cell controlled by regulating proteins, notably family cyclin cyclin-dependent kinases (Kastan Bartek, 2004) whose expression tightly tumorigenesis (Diehl, 2002). inhibits progression downregulating D1 transition G1 S phase
