摘要: Despite numerous efforts, it is still unclear whether lenticular galaxies (S0s) evolve from spirals whose star formation was suppressed, or formed trough mergers disk instabilities. In this paper we present a pilot study of 21 S0 in extreme environments (field and cluster), compare their spatially-resolved kinematics global stellar populations. Our aim to identify there are different mechanisms that form S0s environments. results show the field cluster are, indeed, different. Lenticulars more rotationally supported, suggesting they through processes involve rapid consumption removal gas (e.g. starvation, ram pressure stripping). contrast, minor served mostly shape kinematic properties. These independent total mass, luminosity, disk-to-bulge ratio. On other hand, mass-weighted age, metallicity, time-scale correlate with mass than environment, agreement known relations previous work such as one between metallicity. Overall, our re-enforce idea multiple produce S0s, both $and$ environment play key roles. A larger sample highly desirable confirm refute interpretation study.
