摘要: Twenty-seven consecutive patients with neurological impairment due to burst fractures of the lumbar spine were operated upon, via postero-lateral route, over a 38-month-period. Transpedicular fixation devices [posterior segmental fixator (PSF) or variable screw placement system (VSP)] applied in all cases, order achieve short-segment fusion fractured spinal segment. Return useful motor power normality (median follow-up: 18.7 months) occurred 22 cases (81% whole series), this outcome resulting but one preoperative incomplete deficit. Postoperative encroachment canal, degree kyphotic deformity, and reduction vertebral height showed statistically significant differences compared corresponding values.
