摘要: Parasitic nematodes of Oesophagostomum spp., commonly known, as 'nodular worms' are emerging the most widely distributed and prevalent zoonotic nematodes. infections well documented in African non-human primates; however, taxonomy, distribution transmission Asian primates not adequately studied. To better understand which species infect determine their phylogeny we analysed 55 faecal samples from 50 orangutan 5 gibbon individuals Borneo Sumatra. Both microscopy molecular results revealed that semi-wild animals had higher infection prevalence than free ranging animals. Based on sequence genotyping analysis targeting Internal transcribed spacer 2 rDNA, report for first time presence O. aculeatum Sumatran apes. Population genetic shows there is significant differentiation between Bornean populations. Our clearly reveal free-ranging have a variation those animals, demonstrating circulating naturally wildlife possible. Further studies should be conducted to epidemiology dynamics humans, other wild livestock Southeast Asia.
