摘要: Peroxisomal enzymes are synthesized in the cytoplasm and imported post-translationally across peroxisome membrane. Unlike other organelles with a sealed membrane, peroxisomes can import folded enzymes, they seem to lack intraperoxisomal chaperones. Here, we propose mechanistic model for early steps peroxisomal-matrix-enzyme import, which might help explain unusual features of this process.
