摘要: Within the last years, Volunteered Geographic Information (VGI) has developed rapidly and influenced world of GIscience significantly. Most prominently, Open Street Map (OSM) project maps our in a detail never seen before user-generated maps. Particularly within urban areas, focus recently shifts from only streets towards buildings other objects environment such as parks or street furniture. However, this innovation is mostly restricted to 2D so far. In order come closer Digital Earth, it needs be discussed, how 3D aspect can integrated into VGI-projects. This article two objectives that are closely related: firstly, current situation 3D-VGI reviewed crucial issues for future development pointed out. leads concept defining free open web repository architectural building models. Therefore secondly, new platform called Building Models presented. an important effort 3D-VGI. The models linked OSM displayed by dedicated viewer. extend possibilities crowdsource city future.
