摘要: A rich data set of coffee prices and costs was used to determine what extent changes in commodity affect manufacturer retail prices. On average, a 10-cent increase the cost pound green beans given quarter results 2-cent that quarter. If change persists for several quarters, it will be incorporated into approximately cent-for-cent with commodity-cost change. Given substantial fixed markups involved manufacturing, this translates about 3-percent 10-percent We do not find robust evidence respond more increases than decreases costs.
