摘要: Objective: Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) remain a public health problem of major significance in most parts the world. This study aimed to detect prevalent pathogens patients with signs and symptoms STI referring group university clinics Tehran. Materials methods: In this cross-sectional using randomized cluster sampling, 507 consecutive male female presenting selected care centers Shahid Beheshti University were evaluated between May 2005 2007. Diagnosis was made according WHO criteria for addition microscopic genital discharges. Results: The Candida, Trichomona, Neisseria gonorrhoeae Chlamydia respective frequencies 53.96%, 18.87%, 4.91% 22.26% women 47.10%, 8.67%, 9.50% 34.71% men. Conclusion: Candida detected majority cases. both sexes. Simple preventive has crucial role decreasing frequency STIs society.
