摘要: Aim We investigated partitioning of aquatic macroinvertebrate diversity in eight headwater streams to determine the relative contributions a and ߠdiversity ? diversity, scale dependence ߠcomponents. Location Great Dividing Range, Victoria, Australia. Methods used method Jost (Ecology, 2007, 88, 2427-2439) partition into its undertook analyses at both reach catchment scales explore whether inferences depended on observation. Results hypothesized that would make large contribution macroinvertebrates our dendritic riverine landscape, particularly larger spatial (among catchments) because limited dispersal among sites especially catchments. However, reaches each had relatively high taxon richness while made only small scales. Main conclusions Dendritic landscapes have been thought generate as consequence heterogeneity individual streams, but this may not hold for all stream systems. Here, was low, with containing portion diversity. Thus, could be considered low irreplaceability since losing option use one these representative reserve network does greatly diminish options available completing network. Where information taxonomic distributions is available, or time money modelling approaches are limited, provide useful 'first-cut' obtaining about subcatchments when establishing freshwater reserves.
