摘要: The range of differential diagnoses for osteolytic lesions in the skeletal system is wide, extending from asymptomatic benign lesions—often diagnosed as incidental findings—to clinically symptomatic high-grade osteosarcomas. In majority cases, are and most cases do not require any therapeutic intervention. Malignant primary bone tumours a rarity. Due to their inexperience with findings, physicians who initially see patients (general practitioners, pediatricians, radiologists, orthopaedists, etc.) therefore face dilemma: on one hand, they need carry out extensive diagnostic procedures (including radiological sometimes also invasive methods) order avoid overlooking possible osteosarcoma. On other it by no means rare an osteosarcoma be referred specialized tumour center only when lesion at extremely advanced stage, previously treating patient did expect malignant process.
