摘要: This paper reports the results of a pilot study computer-mediated classroom discussions using “quasi-synchronous” program called Aspects. The data for this are discussion in college involving three students. Each students' computer monitor was videotaped, and information on all screens collated onto single transcript. case analysis uses ethnomethodological conversation to discover how participants coordinate their actions new type speech exchange system. In quasi-synchronous communication do not have access each other's messages until they completed sent group posting board. Thus, cannot rely ordinary means coordinating turn other conversational activities (e.g., monitoring speakers' utterances-in-progress). We found that attempts import conventional procedures from oral resulted misunderstandings confusion. Specifically, we students experienced what phantom responsiveness, adjacency pairs, virtual simultaneity, misinterpretation silence.
