Granulomatous mastitis: Presentations, diagnosis, treatment and outcome in 206 patients from the north of Iran

摘要: Abstract Objectives The aim of this study is to review the clinical presentations, diagnostic methods, treatment options and outcome patients with Granulomatous Mastitis (GM). Material methods In a retrospective study, we indentified 206 women who met required histological criteria Results Thirty eight (18%) these had taken antibiotics before their diagnosis GM. most common symptoms in remaining 168 symptomatic were breast mass. ultrasonographic mammographic finding was large irregular hypo echoic masses an mass, respectively. As tool, fine needle aspiration (FNA) performed 33 (19.5%) core biopsy or without ultrasound done 92 (55%) while successful rate 13 (39%) 87 (94.5%), 43 (25.5%) underwent surgical excisions. Only 6 (3%) improved 200 (97%) did not respond antibiotics, treated steroid among them 144 (72%) improved. Treatment combination methotrexate 56 (28%) effective 40 (71%) them. Sixteen (8%) bromocriptine which 5 (31%) patients. A wide excision 11 (5.5%) nonresponsive therapy. Conclusion Our findings indicate that imaging (GM) have overlapped malignancy. best method biopsy. Corticosteroids are first line good therapeutic response.
