摘要: Abstract The degree of vigilance an animal is a useful parameter for measuring its behavioural integration with the surroundings. Each species has particular hypnogram which very sensitive to variations in environment and reflects adaptive response animal. Four species, horses, cattle, sheep pigs were used study responsiveness different components changes physical environment, social context diet. Standardized conditions provided base time taken revert previous or exhibit stable compensatory mechanism. Depending on experimental situation, either number, duration sleep episodes, both ersponsive exhibited progressive adaptation time. relevance as subtle index surroundings discussed.
