摘要: Population ecology is the most mature of three subdisciplines partly because it has a solid mathematical foundation and can address primary questions distribution abundance with experimental protocols. Yet there much left to do integrate our population knowledge into community ecosystem help global issues food security conservation biodiversity. Many different approaches are now being developed bring about this integration more research will be necessary decide which if any useful in achieving goals explaining changes we see animals plants. Food web would appear best approach at present uses detailed information particular species combination data on consumer-resource interactions apply applied problems biodiversity conservation, security, pest management disease prevention. If use understanding practical time creative way, benefit both human Earth's Much remains done.
