摘要: Preserving lung, heart, and the contralateral breast from toxicity is a technical challenge in women with funnel chest, who require irradiation. The purpose of this study was to determine whether helical tomotherapy (HT) offers an advantage compared three-dimensional (3D) conformal radiotherapy (CRT) for patients pectus excavatum regard its shape. Ten cancer were graded into low or high deformation group using different indices, measured calculated by planning CT. A comparison performed, creating plans CRT HT. Target uniformity, target conformity, exposure organs at risk (OARs) compared. uniformity conformity dose distribution median/average volume (PTV) inferior HT both groups. By tomotherapy, lungs, breast, which received exposure, could be significantly reduced. Tomotherapy led higher lungs breast. This first evaluates 10 breast chest. Better combined significant reduction OARs can reached tomotherapy. However, have larger Therefore, stochastic should considered after deformation.
