摘要: Preserving lung, heart, and the contralateral breast from toxicity is a technical challenge in women with funnel chest, who require irradiation. The purpose of this study was to determine whether helical tomotherapy (HT) offers an advantage compared three-dimensional (3D) conformal radiotherapy (CRT) for patients pectus excavatum regard its shape. Ten cancer were graded into low or high deformation group using different indices, measured calculated by planning CT. A comparison performed, creating plans CRT HT. Target uniformity, target conformity, exposure organs at risk (OARs) compared. uniformity conformity dose distribution median/average volume (PTV) inferior HT both groups. By tomotherapy, lungs, breast, which received exposure, could be significantly reduced. Tomotherapy led higher lungs breast. This first evaluates 10 breast chest.
