摘要: Recent investigations have shown Doppler echocardiography to be useful in the noninvasive assessment of left ventricular systolic function. No data exist, however, regarding influence heart rate on measurements aortic blood flow velocity and acceleration humans. Thus, 12 normal volunteers underwent continuous wave ultrasound recording from suprasternal notch at baseline during progressive transesophageal atrial pacing intervals 10 beats/min between 90 140 while 100% capture 1:1 atrioventricular conduction were maintained. Subjects studied both upright (n = 12) supine 10). With subject (mean 77.8 ± 10.6 beats/min), peak averaged 16.8 3.4 m/s2, modal integral 0.72 0.14 m/s 8.4 2.1 cm, respectively. With beats/min, decreased 15.6 3.6 a significant decline values (p < 0.005). Similar declines seen for (0.64 0.16 7.1 1.9 respectively; p 0.005 versus values). At average 12.8 3.1 0.52 0.11 5.02 1.25 A linear correlation (r ⩾ 0.97, 0.0001) was obtained relation acceleration, integral. supine, produced lowering integral, clear trend toward lower apparent acceleration. Thus, variables function are sensitive alterations rate. Despite documented ability increased augment contractile state, all exhibited with pacing. exists This should considered when interpreting these measurements.
