摘要: Marine microbial populations collected from the Hawaiian Islands were screened for antimicrobial activity. A blue metabolite was identified mixed cell cultures, but production not evident in pure cultures. Experiments designed to probe synergistic role of microorganisms are presented. Full characterization natural product, pyocyanin, is provided including corrections made 1H and 13C-NMR assignments molecule misreported chemical literature yeast transcriptome analysis. The transcriptional effects consistent with compound's purported as an inducer oxidative stress damage illustrates overall potential method reveal primary biological/cellular a product. experiments outlined here might serve general paradigm identification products arising communities investigation their respective interactions.
