摘要: Little is known about the contribution of over-the-counter (OTC) aspirin to cardiovascular prophylaxis. To investigate this, a two-phase cross-sectional study was carried out in nine general practices North Staffordshire. In first phase, all patients with disease (CVD) were identified from computer searches using morbidity registers and drug searches. The search also identfied subgroup receiving prescribed prophylactic aspirin. second questionnaire posted CVD who not on establish their current use OTC Overall, 69% group used aspirin, 26% being OTC. more common those aged under 65 years, men, affluent. Also, there significant differences between various practices. This shows that considerable amount CVD. Its influenced by several factors could be addressed when considering attempts improve overall uptake
