摘要: Bacterial virulence factors influence the site and severity of urinary tract infections. While pyelonephritis-associated molecular traits have been defined, specific for acute cystitis strains not identified. This study examined factor repertoire 247 Escherichia coli strains, prospectively isolated from women with community-acquired cystitis. Fim sequences were present in 96% isolates, which also expressed Type 1 fimbriae. Curli detected 75%, 13% formed cellulose. Pap 47%, 27% papG+, 23% prsG+ 42% P TcpC was by 33% 32% a subgroup patients who only had symptoms signs upper involvement; most frequently papG+/prsG+ subgroup. Strains full fim, pap curli profile more common than without involvement (p < 0.05). The varied E. causing suggests that diverse bacterial expressing fimbriae trigger convergent host response, involving pathways give rise to characteristic
