摘要: Alexithymia is a personality trait associated with the reduced ability to regulate, identify, and communicate feelings or emotions often linked psychosomatic disorders. The present study used event-related potentials (ERPs) investigate relationship between individual differences in alexithymia emotion regulation. Participants classified as scoring either high low on revised form of Toronto Scale (TAS-20; Taylor, Bagby, & Parker Psychother Psychosom 57:34–41, 1992) were asked view negative neutral images, adopting three different regulation strategies (expressive suppression, cognitive reappraisal, attend) while ERPs recorded. Results revealed an inverse TAS scores emotion-related ERP activity during but not reappraisal control “attend” condition. These results observed both early late latencies. findings are interpreted according potential high- low-TAS individuals regarding frequency prior utilization suppression-based strategies.
