摘要: N-linked glycosylation is an essential modification of secretory and membrane proteins in all eukaryotic cells. Here, we review the current metabolic pathways oligosaccharide biosynthesis endoplasmic reticulum Golgi apparatus for yeasts: Saccharomyces cerevisiae Schizosaccharomyces pombe, higher eukaryotes: plants human. The evolutionarily conserved proteins, processed cytosolic luminal side ER membrane, unique genes their specific functions, occurring complex, each selected organism, will be collated discussed. This precise knowledge pathway contributes to better understanding glycoprotein among different species, resulting recently successfully engineered strains heterologous gene expression systems industrial therapeutic protein production.
