摘要: Abstract: Sulphite is widely used as a preservative and antioxidant in foods, beverages, pharmaceuticals. Endogenous sulphite generated during the normal metabolism of sulphur-containing amino acids, alterations sulphur acid occur some neurodegenerative diseases. In particular, oxidase deficiency produces severe mental retardation, seizures, spastic quadriparesis, dislocated lenses, early death. Exposure neuronal cell line (rat mesencephalic cells) to high levels induced time-dependent decrease viability. Peroxynitrite was also toxic this line, affected toxicity ONOO−. concentrations ≤0.5 mM markedly potentiated damage by 200 µM We propose that can act neurotoxic agent, especially combination with peroxynitrite. radicals may be involved effect.
